Position: SEN Primary Teacher
Location: West London
Salary: £150-£220 a day
Start date: April & September
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teacher to join our team at a school in West London. The ideal candidate will be able to lead small groups of students with a wide range of Special educational needs. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities of a SEN Secondary School Teacher include:

  • Planning and delivering lessons that are differentiated to meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each student and creating individualised education plans (IEPs) to support their learning and development.
  • Using a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and support their progress.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as teaching assistants, therapists, and parents, to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and tracking students’ progress, evaluating their achievements, and adjusting the curriculum as needed.
  • Providing emotional support and building positive relationships with students to promote their well-being and social development.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and teaching strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of students’ progress and achievements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs.
  • Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs preferred.
