Year 3 Teaching Assistant

Year 3 Teaching Assistant – Camden Primary School – September 2025 Start 
Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a caring and inclusive primary school in Camden to recruit a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This full-time role is to begin in September 2025 and is ideal for a patient, resilient, and experienced support professional. 
 
The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support for a pupil who displays aggressive behaviours and requires personal care as part of their daily routine. You will be an essential part of a dedicated SEN support team, helping the child access learning and develop key social and emotional skills in a safe and structured environment. 
 
Location: Camden 
Start Date: September 2025 
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only 
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) 
 
About the Role: 

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with ASD 

• Assist with managing challenging behaviours using strategies agreed with the SENCO and external professionals 

• Support with personal care, including toileting and hygiene routines 

• Help the pupil engage with classroom activities and structured routines 

• Promote emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction 

• Liaise regularly with parents/carers and the school’s SEN team to ensure continuity of care and progress tracking 

• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment 

 
The Ideal Candidate Will: 

• Have experience supporting children with autism and behavioural challenges, ideally in a primary school setting 

• Be comfortable and confident providing personal care 

• Demonstrate a calm, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting pupils with complex needs 

• Be familiar with behaviour support plans and strategies such as emotion coaching or de-escalation techniques 

• Be a team player with strong communication skills 

• Be committed to safeguarding and inclusive education
