Teacher of the Deaf – Haringey Specialist Deaf Provision – September 2025 Start 
Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist deaf provision in Haringey to recruit a passionate and experienced Teacher of the Deaf for a September 2025 start. This position is based at the primary site, supporting pupils in the nursery class. 
 
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of deaf children at the earliest stage of their education. You will join a skilled, supportive team dedicated to inclusive, child-centred learning in a well-resourced specialist environment. 
 
Location: Haringey (Primary Site – Nursery Class) 
Start Date: September 2025 or January 2026 
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent 
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (Dependent on experience and qualifications) 
 
About the Role: 

  • Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching to deaf children in the nursery class 
  • Create a language-rich environment that supports communication and early development 
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to meet individual needs 
  • Adapt learning activities to ensure accessibility for pupils with hearing loss 
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, contributing to EHCP reviews and target setting 
  • Promote social, emotional, and cognitive development through play and structured activities 
  • Contribute to the wider school community and uphold a culture of inclusion and high expectations 

 
The Ideal Candidate Will: 

  • Be a qualified Teacher of the Deaf (or a qualified teacher working towards mandatory ToD qualification) 
  • Have experience working with early years or nursery-aged children, ideally in a specialist or inclusive setting 
  • Be confident using British Sign Language (BSL) and other communication strategies for deaf learners 
  • Be nurturing, creative, and passionate about early childhood development and deaf education 
  • Be skilled in multi-agency working and communicating effectively with families and professionals 
  • Be reflective, collaborative, and committed to ongoing professional development
