Do you have experience or training in Speech and Language support?

We are looking for a dedicated Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive primary school team on a part-time basis (3 days per week).

About the Role: As a Speech and Language TA, you will work closely with pupils who have speech, language, and communication difficulties, helping to implement individualised programmes set by the school’s SENCo or Speech and Language Therapist. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on a child’s development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils in small groups or one-to-one to develop communication skills
• Implement tailored speech and language programmes
• Monitor and record pupil progress and feedback to the SENCo/SALT
• Work collaboratively with class teachers and external professionals
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children with speech and language needs (in a school or therapy setting)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A nurturing and patient approach
• Knowledge of strategies such as PECs, Makaton, or visual supports (desirable but not essential)
• A genuine passion for helping children communicate and thrive
