Job Title: Qualified SEN Teacher Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Contract: Full-time / Long-term (Permanent opportunities available)
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified SEN Teacher to work with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD, and complex needs. This role is based within a specialist or inclusive setting in the Sittingbourne area, supporting pupils to achieve both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCPs
• Support pupils with a range of additional needs in small groups or 1:1 settings
• Implement effective behaviour management and positive intervention strategies
• Track progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning outcomes
• Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, support staff, and parents/carers
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and assessments
• Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN (school, PRU, or specialist setting)
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and inclusive teaching strategies
• Confident behaviour management skills
• Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable

• Experience in SEMH, ASD, or complex needs settings
• Team Teach, MAPA, or similar behaviour management training
• Background in specialist schools, PRUs, or alternative provisions
