SEN Teaching Assistant – Wandsworth – September 2025 Start

Pertemps Education is delighted to be partnering with a respected SEN school in Wandsworth to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a September 2025 start.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated team in a specialist setting that supports children with a variety of complex needs. The school fosters a nurturing environment focused on communication, independence, and emotional growth.

Role Details:

  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Contract Type: Full-Time
  • Salary: Competitive (based on experience and qualifications)

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Supporting pupils with diverse and complex SEN needs such as autism, speech and language challenges, and developmental delays
  • Providing both one-to-one and small group assistance during lessons and structured activities
  • Encouraging pupils’ independence, emotional wellbeing, and social skills
  • Working alongside a skilled SEN team and following individual behaviour and support plans
  • Assisting with personal care when necessary
  • Collaborating with external therapists, SEN specialists, and families to deliver consistent, holistic care

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has strong experience supporting students with SEN in either a mainstream or specialist educational setting
  • Is confident working with pupils who are non-verbal or have limited verbal communication
  • Demonstrates patience, initiative, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practices
