SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Support (Primary School – Lambeth)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting children with Autism within the classroom and through tailored interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Autism (ASD)
- Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons to meet the needs of children with SEN
- Implement EHCP targets and behaviour support strategies
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and parents
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children with Autism (in a school or other setting)
- Understanding of strategies such as PECS, TEACCH, or Makaton is desirable
- Calm, patient and nurturing approach to learning support
- Able to build strong relationships with children, staff, and families
- DBS on the update service or willing to apply
