- Salary: £105–£120 per day (based on experience)
Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? A forward-thinking secondary school in Bexley is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September.
About the School This inclusive Bexley-based secondary school is committed to ensuring that every student, regardless of need or background, has the support and opportunity to thrive. The school provides targeted support for students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, social-emotional needs, and other learning differences, often through a well-established SEN department and dedicated support base.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and meeting the goals of their EHCPs
- Assist in implementing strategies to support behaviour, communication, and engagement
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to promote student progress
- Offer emotional support and help build students’ confidence and independence
- Support with personal care if needed (training will be provided)
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with secondary-aged students with SEN (ASC, SEMH, ADHD, or similar)
- A calm, adaptable, and empathetic approach
- Confidence in managing behaviour positively and consistently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Training in Team Teach, PECS, or Makaton is advantageous but not essential
