SEN Teaching Assistant – Barnet – Immediate Start
Pertemps Education is seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Barnet. In this role, you will provide individualised support to a student with special educational needs, helping them overcome learning barriers and fully engage with the curriculum. This position is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact on a child’s education.
Location: Barnet
Pay: £90-£100 per day
Start Date: November
Interview Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 tailored support to a student with special educational needs.
- Help the student stay focused and actively participate in lessons.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials as needed.
- Support the student’s social and emotional development, boosting their confidence and independence.
- Monitor the student’s progress and provide updates to the class teacher and SENCo.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for the student.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a strong rapport with the student.
- Knowledge of SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or sensory impairments.
- Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and parents.
