About the Role A specialist SEN school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated and resilient English Teacher to work with students across KS3 and KS4 with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, and associated behavioural challenges.
This is a highly rewarding role for a teacher who is passionate about making a real difference — supporting students who may be disengaged from education and helping them rebuild confidence, develop literacy skills, and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons (KS3–KS4)
  • Support students with SEMH, ASD, and behavioural needs
  • Manage behaviour effectively using a calm, consistent approach
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual EHCP targets
  • Work closely with TAs, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 level
  • Strong understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH and ASD
  • Confident in behaviour management and de-escalation
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable
  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
