Pertemps Education are pleased to be supporting one of our fantastic schools in their current search for a School Science Technician, based in Lambeth.

At Pertemps, we’re currently recruiting for a Science Technician in a school after building a strong relationship with a local grouping of schools. Our Pertemps Services Division specialises in the placement of non-classroom-based staff including Administrators, HR, Finance and Facilities. With years’ experience within the team, we are the best placed recruiter to support you with your needs both inside and outside of the classroom. 

Location: Lambeth
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

• Prepare and set up equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical science lessons
• Ensure the safe disposal and storage of chemicals in line with health and safety regulations
• Maintain and clean science equipment and laboratories
• Support teachers and students during experiments, ensuring procedures are followed safely
• Keep accurate records of stock and order supplies when necessary
• Assist in the implementation of health and safety policies across the department
• Provide general administrative support to the science department

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience working as a Science Technician, or relevant laboratory-based experience
• Be confident preparing materials for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics practicals
• Be organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Have a good understanding of COSHH and general health and safety in a lab setting
• Hold a science-related qualification (desirable but not essential)
• Have excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
