Receptionist / First Aider – Southend-on-Sea School – September 2025 Start 
Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-organised school in Southend-on-Sea to recruit a Receptionist / First Aider for a September 2025 start. 
 
This is a vital front-facing role, perfect for someone who thrives in a busy school environment and has a calm, professional manner when dealing with pupils, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for the school and must hold, or be willing to complete, a valid First Aid at Work qualification. 
 
Location: Southend-on-Sea 
Start Date: September 2025 
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only 
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm 
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) 
 
About the Role: 

  • Greet and sign in visitors, parents, and contractors at the school reception 
  • Answer incoming calls and emails, and manage general enquiries in a polite and efficient manner 
  • Provide first aid assistance to pupils and staff in line with school protocols 
  • Maintain accurate records of first aid incidents and ensure first aid supplies are stocked 
  • Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining records 
  • Monitor student attendance, update school systems, and liaise with staff as needed 
  • Ensure a professional, friendly, and supportive presence at the school’s front desk 

 
The Ideal Candidate Will: 

  • Have previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, ideally in a school or public setting 
  • Hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate 
  • Be confident using school management systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom) – training can be provided 
  • Be calm under pressure, friendly, and highly organised 
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Hold a valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply
