Reception Teaching Assistant – Brixton Primary School – September 2025 Start 
Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Brixton to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant for a September 2025 start. 
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive Early Years team and help create a nurturing environment where children can develop a love of learning during their first year of school. 
 
Location: Brixton 
Start Date: September 2025 
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only 
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) 
 
About the Role: 

• Support children in the reception class, both 1:1 and in small groups 

• Assist the class teacher with the delivery of a play-based, EYFS-aligned curriculum 

• Help set up engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote early literacy, numeracy, and social development 

• Support with routines such as phonics, snack time, transitions, and personal care 

• Foster a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom atmosphere 

• Monitor and record pupils’ progress and contribute to observations and planning 

 
The Ideal Candidate Will: 

• Have experience working with children in Early Years, ideally in a Reception or nursery setting 

• Be confident supporting young learners with a range of developmental needs 

• Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework 

• Be caring, proactive, and enthusiastic about supporting early childhood development 

• Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and parents 

• Hold a relevant Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
