QTS English Teacher – South East London
We are currently seeking a passionate and resilient QTS English Teacher to join a supportive school setting in South East London. This role is ideal for a teacher who has experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and is committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
The Role:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential).
- Support students with SEMH needs, helping them to re-engage with education and build confidence in their learning.
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum while adapting to individual learning needs.
- Create a structured, supportive and positive classroom environment.
- Work closely with SENCOs, pastoral staff and other professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching English Language and Literature within a UK secondary setting.
- Proven experience working with students with SEMH, behavioural needs, or in alternative provision/PRU settings.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Patient, resilient and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
