A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated Psychology, Autism & Speech and Language Support Assistant to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

The school has a strong commitment to inclusive education and supports a diverse cohort of pupils with Autism (ASC), Speech and Language needs, ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Staff work closely with Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists and external specialists to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive both academically and socially.
You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team who are passionate about early intervention and helping children develop communication, confidence and independence.
This role is particularly suited to graduates or aspiring practitioners interested in careers such as Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Clinical Psychology or SEN Teaching.

🧩 Role and Responsibilities

πŸ’¬ Deliver 1:1 and small-groupinterventions focusing on speech, language and communication development
🧠 Support pupils with autism and additional learning needs using structured and visual strategies
πŸ“š Assist teachers in adapting learning to meet individual EHCP and SEN support plans
🀝 Work alongside teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to embed therapeutic approaches in the classroom
🌈 Support pupils’ emotional regulation, confidence and social development
πŸ“Š Monitor and record pupil progress and engagement
πŸ›‘οΈ Promote safeguarding, inclusion and positive behaviour support
🎯 Candidate Requirements
πŸŽ“ Degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Speech Sciences, Education, Child Development or a related field (or working towards)
❀️ Genuine interest in autism, speech and language development and SEN
πŸ—£οΈ Strong communication and teamwork skills
πŸ•ŠοΈ Patient, nurturing and emotionally resilient
⭐ Experience working with children, tutoring, mentoring or SEN is desirable but not essential
