🌟 About the School

An independent specialist day school supporting students aged 11–16 who have experienced difficulties in mainstream settings. Pupils present with specific learning difficulties and more complex communication and interaction needs, including autism spectrum conditions.
The school maintains high expectations for every learner, delivering highly personalised education and therapeutic support aligned with each student’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Their mission is to equip young people with the academic, emotional and practical skills needed to lead independent, fulfilling adult lives.
You will be joining a nurturing, inclusive and highly collaborative environment, working alongside a skilled multi-disciplinary team including Speech and Language Therapists (SALTs), Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists and specialist teachers.

🧩 Role and Responsibilities

πŸ’¬ Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group communication and learning interventions
🧠 Use autism-friendly strategies including visual supports, PECS, Makaton and social stories
🀝 Work closely with SALTs, teachers and pastoral staff to embed therapeutic approaches
🌈 Support students’ emotional regulation, confidence and independence
πŸ“Š Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing
πŸ›‘οΈ Uphold safeguarding, inclusion and positive behaviour standards

🎯 Candidate Requirements

πŸŽ“ Degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Speech Sciences, Education or Child Development (or working towards)
❀️ Genuine interest in autism, communication and complex SEN
πŸ—£οΈ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
πŸ•ŠοΈ Patient, empathetic and emotionally resilient
πŸš— Able to travel to Quidenham / Norfolk area
⭐ Previous SEN or youth work experience desirable but not essential
