Are you a compassionate and caring Senior Teacher or current SENCO who has a passion for raising outcomes for SEND students?

Hourglass Leadership are in Partnership with a large community based Primary school located in Chingford, who are seeking a Permanent SENCO from April 2024.
We are seeking candidates who wish to make a positive change to the outcomes of SEND students across the school and make the department their own. You must be compassionate, kind, caring and understanding to effectively manage the complex nature of the role. This is a non-teaching position, and you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team. This is your opportunity to create, develop and shape a SEN team around you.
As the SENCO, you will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Current working as a SENCO/Deputy SENCO
  • Experience managing SEND workload
  • Experience in using data to drive progress
  • Strong communication skills
  • Adaptable, organised and can work under pressure

It is not essential that you have completed your NASENCO Award, the school are more than happy to support you through this qualification. However, you must have a good idea of what being a SENCO entails, including processes, so if you have deputised or been a SENCO before, we want to hear from you!

The Primary School based in Chingford is a 3-form entry primary at the heart of the community. They have been Graded Good by Ofsted which praised their enriching curriculum and extra-curricular activities.  The school have been described as a warm and friendly organisation, where they foster a supportive and collaborative nature, which in turn creates innovative environment. The school is committed to ongoing professional development and will provide CPD related to the SENCO role.
