Nursery Teaching Assistant

Nursery Teaching Assistant – Camden Primary School – Immediate Start 
Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Camden to recruit a Nursery Teaching Assistant for an immediate start. 
 
This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a non-verbal child in the nursery class. The position will run until the end of the current school term, with the potential to continue from September 2025. 
 
Location: Camden 
Start Date: Immediate 
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (Until July, with possible extension) 
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) 
 
About the Role: 

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a non-verbal child in the nursery class 

• Assist with communication strategies, such as visual supports and gesture-based communication 

• Foster a calm, nurturing environment that promotes engagement and interaction 

• Support with routine care tasks and daily transitions 

• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to support the child’s learning and development 

• Monitor progress and contribute to reports and planning discussions 

 
The Ideal Candidate Will: 

• Have experience working in an Early Years setting, ideally with children who are non-verbal or have communication difficulties 

• Be patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic about supporting young children 

• Be confident using or learning visual communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton – training can be provided) 

• Be proactive and adaptable, with a strong commitment to inclusive practice 

• Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and parents
