Pertemps Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Dorking to recruit an enthusiastic and resilient Qualified Maths Teacher (QTS) for a September start.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to secondary-aged pupils.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor progress, assess learning and support students in achieving their full potential.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
  • Previous experience working within SEMH, SEND, PRU or alternative provision is desirable, although strong mainstream teachers with excellent behaviour management are encouraged to apply.
  • Is patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people.
  • Has excellent classroom management skills and a flexible approach to teaching.
