Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Croydon
Specialism: Behavioural Management
Are you a passionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant looking to make a difference in the lives of young people? We’re currently seeking an experienced LSA to join a supportive school in the Croydon area, providing dedicated support to students with additional behavioural and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to engage positively in learning.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a calm and productive learning environment.
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to deliver tailored interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to ensure each student’s progress and wellbeing.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, independence and resilience.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting students with behavioural or SEMH needs (essential).
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- A calm, empathetic and proactive approach to supporting young people.
- Ability to build trust and motivate students to achieve their potential.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
