Head of Computing/ICT – Redbridge – September Start
Are you an ambitious and experienced Computing/ICT teacher looking for the next step in your career? A high-achieving secondary school in Redbridge is seeking a dynamic and passionate Head of Computing/ICT to lead their department from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the curriculum, drive academic excellence, and inspire students in the ever-evolving field of technology. 
 
Role Overview: 

  • Position: Head of Computing/ICT 
  • Location: Redbridge 
  • Start Date: September 2025 
  • Contract: Full-Time / Permanent 
  • Salary: M1 – UPS3 with TLR 2b (Outer London)

 
About You: 

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has a strong track record of delivering outstanding Computing/ICT lessons. 
  • Has experience leading a team or is ready to take the next step into a leadership role. 
  • Is passionate about developing an engaging and future-focused Computing/ICT curriculum, incorporating programming, cybersecurity, AI, and emerging technologies. 
  • Has excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire both students and staff. 
  • Can drive high academic standards and student outcomes across the department. 
  • Is committed to fostering an inclusive and stimulating learning environment, preparing students for careers in the digital world. 

 
Your Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage the Computing/ICT department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. 
  • Develop and implement innovative schemes of work that integrate the latest technological advancements. 
  • Support and mentor staff to enhance teaching practices and professional development. 
  • Monitor student progress and attainment, using data to drive improvements. 
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to contribute to whole-school digital strategies
  • Promote STEM and digital literacy through extracurricular clubs, coding competitions, and industry partnerships.
