A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Years Teacher to join their specialist Autism Base. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurturing practitioner who is committed to supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and helping every child reach their full potential.
The Role
As the Early Years Teacher within the Autism Base, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated EYFS lessons tailored to pupils with autism
- Create a structured, safe, and sensory-friendly learning environment
- Work closely with speech and language therapists, SENCOs, support staff, and families
- Use communication strategies such as PECS, visual timetables, and sensory approaches
- Monitor progress and support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
- Lead and support a team of teaching assistants within the provision
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience working within EYFS and/or SEND settings
- Has a strong understanding of autism and inclusive teaching strategies
- Demonstrates patience, creativity, and excellent behaviour management
- Is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs
