Salary: Dependant on Experience – £16-18 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced DT Food Technician to join our team in Merton. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic individual who has prior experience supporting food technology in a school setting. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure the smooth running of practical food sessions, maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and organisation.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare resources, ingredients, and equipment for food technology lessons.
• Support teachers during practical food lessons, ensuring students are safe and following procedures.
• Maintain food preparation areas, equipment, and storage in line with health and safety standards.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of ingredients and equipment.
• Provide guidance to students on practical techniques when required.
• Assist with the cleaning and organisation of the food technology area.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service is essential.
• Proven experience as a Food Technician in a school environment.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
