Job Title: Day Plus Supervisor
Contract Type: Part-Time, Term Time Only
Working Hours: 25 hours per week

  • Morning Shift: 7:00am – 8:30am
  • Afternoon Shift: 4:00pm – 7:30pm
    Salary: £17,370 per annum
    Reports to: Prep School Senior Deputy Head

Job Summary We are seeking a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Day Plus Supervisor to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our Day Plus provision. The role involves the supervision and support of pupils aged 7–13 (and 7–18 during morning sessions), ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and engagement in a range of activities before and after the school day.
This is a key role in fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment where pupils can relax, learn, and thrive outside of traditional classroom hours.
Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the welfare and safety of pupils attending the Day Plus programme.
  • Oversee daily routines, including welcoming pupils, managing transitions, and coordinating afternoon activities.
  • Support children with homework, reading, and other enrichment tasks as needed.
  • Provide a positive and engaging environment that promotes children’s social and emotional development.
  • Lead and manage Day Plus Team Member(s), including planning, delegating tasks, and ensuring high standards of care and conduct.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, maintaining open and professional communication at all times.
  • Promote safeguarding and uphold the school’s values, policies, and code of conduct.

Person Specification Essential:

  • Experience working with children aged 7–13 (and ideally up to 18).
  • A caring, patient, and responsible approach.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a small team.
  • Commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils.

Desirable:

  • First Aid training or willingness to undertake.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Relevant childcare or education qualifications.
