School Caretaker – Secondary School – South East London

Location: Bromley
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner for the right candidate)
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (Temp to Perm opportunities available)
Pay Rate: £14–£17 per hour (depending on experience)

Are you a reliable and hands-on professional looking for a vital role in a school community?
We are working with a number of well-established secondary schools in South East London seeking Caretakers to support with site maintenance, security, and health & safety compliance from September.

Key Responsibilities:

• Open and close the school site, ensuring all buildings and grounds are secure
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs (DIY, painting, replacing fixtures, etc.)
• Manage cleaning staff and liaise with external contractors when necessary
• Conduct regular checks to ensure the school meets health and safety standards
• Support with school events, setting up furniture, and general site duties

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Manager, or in a facilities/maintenance role
• Good DIY and practical maintenance skills
• Understanding of health & safety and security procedures
• Trustworthy, punctual, and able to work independently
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
