Pertemps Education is seeking a skilled and dedicated BSL (British Sign Language) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive special needs school in Lambeth. This role is ideal for someone with BSL Level 2 or above who is passionate about supporting deaf or hearing-impaired students to access learning and communication across the curriculum.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils who use BSL as their primary means of communication.
• Assist teachers in adapting lessons and learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Use sign language and visual aids to help pupils engage with classroom activities and social interaction.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, speech and language therapists, and specialist staff to promote inclusion and progress.
• Support pupils’ emotional well-being and independence in a nurturing and structured learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds a minimum of BSL Level 2 qualification (Level 3 preferred).
• Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired children or young people in an educational setting.
• Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong communication-based relationships.
• Team player with a genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting children with additional needs.
