Job Details

Are you an experienced SEN Supporter, or looking to gain new experience within Special Needs Education? We are looking for a range of candidates to assist our Special School on a regular or full time basis.
Pertemps are pleased to be working exclusively with an excellent SEN independant school based near East Harling, Norfolk. The school provides an access to education for pupils between the ages of 8 and 16. These pupils are often those who have found learning extremely difficult in a mainstream setting, and thus are need of a tailored & indiviudalised pathway to education.

The schools specialism caters for pupils with Social & Emotional Learning Difficulties (SEMH), which can manifest in various ways including verbal & physical outbursts. These young, sometimes anxious & stressed learners, are in need of individuals who are prepared to see past the expressions of behaviour, and focus more into understanding why these issues exist, where they have been cultivated from, and how this can be overcome through pastoral support, nurture, teamwork and a bespoke academic curriculum.

Our ideal candidate would:
- Be prepared or experienced at working with pupils who display bouts of challenging behaviour
- Own an Enhanced DBS Certificate (On Update Service - or be open to getting one with Pertemps)
- Have confidence or knowledge with understanding behaviour, autism, and mental health
- Drives own vehicle and can commute up to 30 minutes per day
- Be available to register with Pertemps over the October Half Term
- Have two years worth of recent references to be contacted

School hours & Format:
8:30 to 3:45pm
Monday to Friday, or Daily Supply, or Selected Days on a consistent basis.
Agency basis, upwards of £80 per day. Offer of Permanent Employment from the School in January 2022 if successfull as an agency member of staff.

This is a very unique opportunity for the right selection of candidates. As advertised, the school is very open to those who can only commit on a 'daily' basis, certain days throughout the week, or a full time basis. The key characteristic we are looking for is consistency, as this is what has the most impact on the schools pupils.

The school itself is beautifully located, with access to a range of new resources, and with a wealth of history behind its origin. The school appears to be a fascinating place of work, with an obvious sense of duty from each member of staff across the school. If you'd like to be part of a strong SEN Team either at KS3, KS3 or KS4, we would love to hear from you ASAP.

Thank you and expect contact by our Senior Specialist Consultant Branden within 24 hours of application.
