Pertemps are working in partnership with an Independant SEN Secondary School based near Thetford & Banham in Norfolk. This school is linked closely with one of Norfolks most recognised schooling trusts, and SEN School of the Year 2021.
As a Secondary SEN School, the provision caters for pupils between the ages of 11 and 16, all of which display a range of Autistic & Emotional Needs. The site itself is absolutely stunning, with access to over 40 acres of surrounding private land - it is almost its own miniature village! This extends to a series of resources the school is able to provide its pupils, including access to its Residential Facilities.
This outstanding & 'under the radar' school for SEN pupils fouses on managing a hollistic, happy, and safe environment where their children can live, learn and play. The curriculum is designed to meet the specific needs of pupils as individuals, and coupled alongside the 'autism specific' approach to learning, pupils enjoy a bespoke & tailored access to education.
The ideal Pertemps candidate:
- Available within a 2 week notice period
-Owns DBS Certificate (ENHANCED & Update)
-Experience AND Confidence within a range of challenging SEN disciplines including; Sexualised language, physical aggression.
-Experience at a 1 to 1 level (working with pupils).
-Understand how to deligate and give direction to both pupils and supporting members of staff
-Practical knowledge of Therapeutic Intervention, SEMH and ASC.
-Available immediately to attend a school visit, meet the pupil, and interview.
-English and Maths GCSE is essential
-Have experience with Residential Staff or Pupils (Neurological or Social Care)
With regards to this 1:1 Instructing position - Your class Teacher will provide full planning but we are looking for the right candidate to deliver lessons and complete paperwork in addition to their supporting responsabilities. This will be delivered to the pupil directly, most likely alongside a member of support.
This could be the ideal role for someone looking to join a very strong, independant SEN Team, as well as build on their experience within Autism & Behavior. This is an ideal role for an Instructor or Lead TA, but we are also very open to LSA's and TA's that have the knowledge and competency to step into the shoes of a Behavior Instructor & Mentor.
As this position is either Temporary Long Term or Temporary to Permanent, then the school is offering a host of training packages for staff, including MAPA.
