Pertemps are delighted to be working in partnership with an outstanding Primary School based in Basildon who need someone like you, ASAP.
We are looking for candidates with excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to deal with SEN pupils who display extreme challenging behaviour (mentally & physically abusive) on a daily basis – particularly those with social and emotional needs, complex needs, autism, dyslexia, and challenging behaviour.
You will work with a specific pupil exclusively that has had a consistent tendency to display a range of behavioural needs and social & emotional discomfort in both a class and 1:1 capacity. You will need to be resilient, and ready to take on a challenge!
- preparing learning materials under the supervision of the teacher
- working inside or outside the classroom with individuals or groups
- adapting support according to needs of the pupil
- looking after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
- creating a stimulating environment
- giving information and help to teachers
- keeping records and attending review meetings
This School Unit is registered for Key Stage 2-4 for pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs - previously known as Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD), Special Educational Needs (SEN.)
This pupils requires individualised programmes which support his re-integration into academia & his social ability outside of school
The school unit offers positive outcomes to young people of school age who have disengaged, or are at the point of disengaging with education.
Despite these challenges, the school supports their pupils in achieving a wide range of accredited outcomes in examinations and other courses.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a temporary placement at the school, to secure a job role before September, and to be part of team that understands the importance of providing value to their pupils on a daily basis.
You will need to be readily available to visit after the half term period
