I am delighted to be working in partnership with a brilliant Alternative Academy located in Central Suffolk. They are recruiting for an experienced KS4 English Teacher, with experience and confidence amongst SEN pupils with behavioural issues.
What we are looking for:

  •  QTS OR QTLS (open to those with Masters Degree or relevant qualification
  • Confidence in classroom management
  • Experience of working within a Secondary environment, and PRU environment (non-essential)
  • Ability to engage and inspire young people with a range of Complex Needs and Social Emotional & Mental Health conditions
  • Flexibility and adaptability

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the delivery of outstanding English & Literacy lessons at a KS4 level.
  • To provide a nurturing classroom and academy environment that helps pupils to develop as learners.
  • Demonstrate well-developed and up-to-date subject knowledge
  • Use the classroom as a place to innovate and try new idea which can then be shared with colleagues
This inspirational school is registered for Key Stage 2-4 for pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs - previously known as Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD), Special Educational Needs (SEN.) as well as a RANGE of Complex & Severe learning difficulties. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the nature of Special Needs in an Alternative setting, and it be part of a tailored programme individualised to each pupil.
