Location: West Drayton, London Borough of Hillingdon
Salary: £32,064 – £36,579 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Behaviour Mentor – West Drayton, Hillingdon Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning? Do you have experience working with children who display challenging behaviour and have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school in West Drayton, Hillingdon. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them develop positive relationships, self-regulation skills, and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with students to encourage engagement and academic progress.
  • Support the implementation of behaviour support plans and intervention strategies.
  • Assist teaching staff in maintaining a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help pupils develop emotional resilience, self-esteem, and positive coping strategies.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support students in managing emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working within a school, alternative provision, pupil referral unit, youth work, or similar setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and improving outcomes.
  • Team Teach training is beneficial but not essential.
