Are you a recent graduate passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated Graduate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Teachers, Counsellors, Youth Workers, or Mental Health Practitioners looking to gain valuable school-based experience.

The Role:

As a Graduate SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils across KS1 and KS2 who require additional emotional, behavioural, and pastoral support. You will play a key role in helping children feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Supporting children with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working alongside SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals
  • Encouraging confidence, resilience, and social development

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A graduate in Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, Health & Social Care, or a related field
  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people
  • Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • A genuine interest in SEN, SEMH, and inclusive education

Position Details:

  • Competitive daily rate depending on experience
