🌟 About the Role A highly regarded specialist Speech and Language school in Kingston upon Thames is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their experienced multidisciplinary team.
This setting supports pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), including Developmental Language Disorder, Autism, and associated learning differences. You will play a key role in delivering structured, communication-focused teaching that enables pupils to access learning, build confidence, and develop independence.

🧩 Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated, language-rich lessons tailored to individual learning profiles
- Work collaboratively with Speech and Language Therapists, Teaching Assistants, and SENCO
- Implement strategies such as visual supports, Makaton, communication boards, and structured language interventions
- Support pupils’ social communication, literacy development, and emotional regulation
- Track progress against EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Create a nurturing, structured classroom environment that promotes engagement and success
✅ Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with SLCN, Autism, or complex SEN in a school or specialist setting
- Strong understanding of communication-friendly teaching approaches
- Ability to adapt curriculum content to meet language and processing needs
