A highly regarded Special Academy in Sutton is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join their exceptional team. The school supports pupils aged 7–18 with a wide range of ability levels and additional learning needs, including complex SEN, medical needs, communication difficulties, and developmental delays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to a wide range of needs and abilities
  • Differentiate effectively for learners with complex SEN and diverse learning profiles
  • Work closely with therapists, support staff and the SENCO to deliver holistic support
  • Create a nurturing, structured and motivating learning environment
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews, progress reports and personalised learning plans
  • Promote independence, communication and positive social development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN, preferably in a special school or complex needs setting
  • Strong understanding of autism, PMLD, SLD, and other developmental needs
  • Skilled in behaviour support, differentiation and multi-sensory teaching approaches
  • Calm, compassionate and able to build strong, trusting relationships
  • Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
