🏫 About the School 
A friendly and inclusive specialist school near Newbury is seeking a caring and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

The school is proud of its nurturing ethos and commitment to ensuring every child can succeed. They provide a positive, inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

You will be working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autismspeech and language difficulties, or social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.

🎯 Your Role As an Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • 🤝 Provide 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEN.
  • 💬 Implement learning, communication, and behaviour support strategies.
  • 🌈 Work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to adapt activities and resources.
  • 🧩 Support children’s social and emotional development throughout the school day.
  • 🛡️ Promote inclusion, wellbeing, and safeguarding at all times.

 
👩‍🏫 About You We’re looking for someone who is:

  • ❤️ Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with SEN.
  • 🎓 Ideally experienced in an education, childcare, or SEN setting (training provided).
  • 🗣️ A confident communicator who works well in a team.
  • 💡 Flexible, proactive, and keen to learn.
  • ✅ Able to commit full-time during term-time.
