PA to Head Teacher required for a school in Camden

£16.00 – 18.00 per hour
At Pertemps, we’re currently recruiting for a PA to Head in a school after building a strong relationship with a local grouping of schools. They are looking for an experienced School Administrator with experience using SIMS or School Pod ideally, or a candidate with very strong Admin experience looking to make the move into the Education setting. Our Pertemps Services Division specialises in the placement of non-classroom-based staff including Administrators, HR, Finance and Facilities. With years experience within the team, we are the best placed recruiter to support you with your needs both inside and outside of the classroom.
PA to Head Key responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
- To be responsible for ensuring that all enquiries and messages are dealt with appropriately and confidentially.
- Uphold and demonstrate explicitly the vision, values and aims of the school and to actively contribute to their development.
- Work alongside all other staff to promote appropriate professional behaviours and a positive ethos within the school.
- To manage and co-ordinate the Headteacher’s diary and organise meetings, as appropriate.
- To note and coordinate the Headteacher’s follow-up actions at the end of key meetings and from correspondence.
- Maintain and devise office systems, including data management and filing.
- Screen phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handle them when appropriate.
- Meet and greet visitors at all levels of seniority.
- Carry out background research and presenting findings.
- Organise and attend meetings and ensure the head is well prepared for meetings.
- To use and develop the use of ICT and make recommendations to the Headteacher.
- To be responsible for obtaining the necessary licences and permissions and ensuring they are accurate and kept up to date.
- To be responsible for branding and marketing, developing links and sharing information with the local community e.g. liaising with local newspaper.
- Ensure the website, office screen and noticeboards are kept fully up to date. Other duties and responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to members of the senior leadership team as directed by the head.
- Work alongside the senior leadership team, supporting the strategic direction of the school.
- To work in accordance with national and agreed LA policies and liaise with LA/LDBS officers, advisors and other outside agencies as appropriate.
- To keep up to date on relevant educational issues and legislation.
- To attend staff and leadership meetings, as appropriate.
- To review and revise the codes of practice and policies annually.
- To ensure all duties and responsibilities are discharged in accordance with the school’s health and safety at work policy.
- To participate in the school’s performance management scheme, ensuring that performance standards and targets are set and met within the agreed time scale.
- Provide hospitality for meetings as required.
- To undertake other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade of the post.
- Take responsibility for ordering equipment for the office staff as and when this is required in order for them to complete their roles.
About you:
- Experience working within a school environment
- Must have experience using SIMS, Arbor, BROMCOM or similar
- A valid DBS on the DBS update service
- Experience of monitoring and logging attendance
